In the late 90's i was homeless and lived in the red building..."B.K.P" is painted on the wall--The stone building along 222 by the Granite quarry was a nice place but i quess time has taken a tole.....

This is the first time since hurricane Agnes I have seen this entrance from Ilchester Road to Avalon Area. We used to drive through the park with our Mom and Dad. It was such a pretty drive. I remember hearing about the road washing away but didn't realize how bad it was.Thank you for sharing this it really means alot.

This place isn’t open to the public…. The cartel meth operation could be up and running here for all you know and you could have gotten killed. They will interview Miguel after he gets busted one day and he’ll say “I’d have gotten away with it too….. if it wasn’t for these meddling kids” You kids and your pot, you stay outta here lol

How do I get to the car?

Lot of memories there for me. I used to belong to a civil war reenactment unit, 2nd Delaware. We would do that event every year. I always loved that event, really miss those days. Beautiful place, all things considered. Despite the misery and horrific atrocities that happened there, it still has a very serene feel to it today.

I have gone through the Paw Paw Tunnel and it was definitely creepy. I was with my husband and there were other people too. And the tunnel you saw at the Frostburg Depot is called the C&P Tunnel (Cumberland & Pennsylvania Railroad). Its an old abandoned railroad tunnel. It is 537 feet. It comes out at coordinates N 39° 39.307 W 078° 55.539. I basically goes under the main street in Frostburg. But it is closed now. However, you can check out 2 other tunnels. The Borden and Brush Tunnels, nearby.

Came here about two weeks ago for the first time with my two friends. It was at night and snowy. The wind chill was so incredibly cold that we left in less than 5 minutes. Incredible views from up there at night! I'd love to go again during the day because it looks even more insane in the day time.

Love this video. I live about 10 minutes from Centralia. We rode through the area today. You might find it interesting that there is a geyser a short distance down the road. An elderly friend told us it was not there when he was a kid. Been shooting up water for around 15 years. It's right on the side of Big Mine Run Road. We have pictures and video. Awesome to see!!
